Leaders elected under parties affiliated to the National Super Alliance have urged their supporters to remain calm and avoid engaging the police.

The Nasa MPs-elect are accusing the government of using excess force on unarmed protesters.

The protests in perceived opposition zones were sparked by the announcement of Jubilee Party leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta, as the winner of the presidential election on Friday night.

Led by Rarieda MP elect Otiende Amolo, the leaders said the police were targeting people living in Kibra, Kawangware and Mathare slum in Nairobi, and Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya, Kisii and Nyamira in Nyanza region.

“We have information that personnel from the Kenyan military were sent to Nasa areas to deal with our supporters because they knew they were going to steal the election results in favour of President Uhuru and they were also fully aware of the response from our people,” Former nominated MP Oburu Oginga said

On Saturday, Johnson Muthama, in a press address, claimed over 100 people had lost their lives as a result of the police using live bullets on the demonstrators.
