President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party will launch its Manifesto on Monday, June 26, 2017.
Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto “will be making another solemn pledge to Kenyans” during the launch of the Manifesto, at Nairobi's Safaricom Stadium, Kasarani.
Some of the highlights in the Manifesto, include the pledge to have free secondary school education, starting January 2018.
"The free secondary education President Uhuru Kenyatta has promised Kenyans will kick off without hitches thanks to the systematic plans put in place by the Jubilee Administration. The new plan, a key plank of the Jubilee Party Manifesto to be unveiled on Monday, will be rolled out smoothly given the gradual increments in funding levels for the education sector in terms of capitation as well as allocations for school infrastructure," revealed PSCU, Saturday.
Kenyatta and Ruto will use the platform to highlight the achievements their government has made so far, since they took power in 2013, their vision for Kenya, and a concrete plan for a developed, progressive and united Kenya.
The launch happens, as Kenyans join the Muslim community worldwide, in celebrating Idd Ul Fitr. The day will be a public holiday, according to the Miistry of Interior and Coordination.
Jubilee's main challengers, Nasa planned to launch their Manifesto, Monday June 19, at the Bomas of Kenya, but postponed to Tuesday June 27, due to the holly month of Ramadan.
