NASA affiliated MCAs in Nyamira county have launched an onslaught on Jubilee saying the government influenced the high court ruling ordering a fresh scrutiny and recount of votes in 90 polling stations.

According to the MCAs, Governor John Nyagarama is unfairly targeted by Jubilee because he supports NASA leader Raila Odinga’s agenda in the county.

Led by county assembly Leader of Majority Raban Masira, they claimed that the judge who ruled the case was influenced by Jubilee government however they will ensure that the scrutiny of the votes is done in a free and fair manner.

“We know Nyagarama won fairly in the last elections but since he is not supporting Jubilee they want to oust him from office through unfair means but we will stand by him as we will keenly follow the scrutiny and voter recount process,” said Masira.

Speaking at a press conference at the Nyamira county hall on Tuesday the MCAs urged the locals, however, to remain calm as they were determined that Nyagarama would emerge victorious at the end of the day.

The sentiments come barely a day after High Court judge Justice James Makau said he is satisfied with the evidence given by the seven petitioners’ witnesses hence ordered for a voter recount in 90 polling stations.
