NASA MCAs on Thursday walked out in protest after Speaker Beatrice Elachi refused to allow them debate the People's Assembly motion.

Though the motion was not listed in the order paper, Minority Chief Whip Peter Imwatok insisted on using Standing order 51, that allows a member to issue a notice and move a motion.

But the speaker declined saying the house had already gone beyond the "notice of motion" according to the sequence of the order paper.

This prompted NASA MCAs to walk out chanting "reject, resist".

They also accused Speaker Elachi of bias.

"This is a dictator speaker. We will bring this motion again next year in January," said Minority leader Elias Otieno.
