Bitter exchanges erupted in Raila Odinga's meeing on Thursday with senators over alleged betrayal by co-principals during January swearing-in, a source has revealed.
The meeting had been convened by Raila, who was accompanied by Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula, to discuss leadership row in the Senate.
Even with senators refusing to reinstate Wetangula as Senate Minority Leader despite his apology, several senators are said to have reignited the controversial oath.
Apparently, Senator James Orengo, who was elected to Wetangula's position, opened the Pandora box when he singled out Kalonzo as the source of disunity in the NASA coalition.
"Orengo was even more open. He accused Kalonzo of fueling divisions in the coalition by misleading the public on why he missed the event," said the source.
The source, who spoke in confidence added: "He also blamed Kalonzo of being insincere by allowing Wiper members to issue disparaging remarks about Raila."
With Wetangula and Kalonzo refusing to give explanations, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina is said to have insisted that Wetangula's ouster would not be rescinded.
Even more worrying, nominated senator Judy Pareno, insisted that the Bungoma senator's removal would not affect unity in the coalition.
A discouraged Raila urged senators to go for a retreat to discuss the matter before reporting to NASA summit in a fortnight.
