Lawyer and National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Dr Miguna Miguna has been held 'hostage' at the Githunguri police station. This is according to the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.
In a tweet on Friday evening, the coalition revealed that the lawyer is yet to be released despite a High court order calling for the same.
NASA has alleged that there is a 'plan' to release Miguna at night so that he is vulnerable to an attack organised by Gatundu South Mp Moses Kuria and Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu.
"By design, the police took Dr Miguna to Githunguri yet the alleged offense he is being charged with occurred in Nairobi."
"The high court has ordered for Dr Miguna's release yet the officers at the station allege that they are awaiting orders from above. The plan is to release him under the cover of darkness when he'll be an easy target of attack as organised by Gatundu South Mp Moses Kuria and Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu," tweeted NASA.
The coalition has thus called on its supporters from Kiambu region to make their way to the said police station and offer passage for the lawyer and other NASA leaders.
"We call upon all supporters in Kiambu County and its environs to urgently make way to Githunguri Police station to help give safe passage to our compatriots who are besieged there," read another tweet.
Miguna was arrested on Friday morning after he participated in the controversial swearing-in of Raila Odinga at Uhuru Park on Tuesday January 30.
