South Mugurango MP Sylvanus Osoro was on Sunday thrown to defense on social media after a section of Gusii residents accused him of being naive following a photo posted on his timeline taken in DP William Ruto's helicopter.

It was however not the first time the MP was accompanying Ruto to a function given that he had taken a similar photo at a past event in Eldoret before Sunday's Kitale visit.

"He is taking photos in Ruto's helicopter which was not even bought using justifiable means. He is begging for development instead of performing his legislative duties," wrote Amos Nyambane on Facebook.

Another user, AB Murage said: "Taking photos with DP in the name of campaigning for him is unnecessary. These people should be in their constituencies serving people."

In recent weeks, the opposition allied MP has been pushing for Ruto's presidency in 2022, adding that the country is not ready for constitutional amendments.

And in a response directed to his critics, Osoro however defended the move, insisting that he was invited by the DP.

"I did not invite myself as some of you are claiming. I came here through the DP's invitation. I am not that idle as some of you think."
