A NASA affiliate MP was attacked and robbed by a gang that also damaged his car. Michael Mutuku is eying the Mavoko parliamentary seat on an ODM party ticket and was attacked hours to start of voting. He was attacked in Muthwani ward at Nzoiani. The crime scene is near Ivalini market.

Michael Mutuku was in the company of three people and his driver at the time of the attack.

“I was heading to Ndovoini and Joska to issue appointment letters to my election agents and those of NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga when one Munyambo, a long time friend and one of my opponent Patrick Makau's handlers stopped me. I told my driver to stop the car by the road so we could greet him. When I lowered the co-driver's window, the attackers who were more than ten emerged," he said as reported by the Star.

He said that the attackers had crude weapons. He narrated that he was smashed on the back of the neck by a soda bottle and vandalized his Toyota Prado KBT 600 S windscreen and demanded cash.

The MP aspirant narrated that they hit him with an empty soda bottle on the back of his head and smashed the rear windscreen of his Toyota Prado KBT 600 S before demanding cash. The politician added that his Canon camera, two HP laptops, Sh4,650 and a Sony mobile phone was taken.

“The other occupants were roughed up...they must have been trailing us. We did not have chase cars or bodyguards… I did not know Munyambu had organized goons to attack me when I responded to his friendly wave," he added.
