Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has dared Jubilee MPs to take National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Kaluma says that the threat allegedly issued by Devolution Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mwangi Kiunjuri that Odinga will be taken to ICC is malicious and a political scheme to intimidate the former Prime Minster (PM).
Speaking during an interview on KTN news on Sunday, Kaluma claimed that Jubilee wants to frighten the opposition ahead of the repeat presidential poll slated for October 26.
The ODM MP said that the NASA presidential flag bearer has not done anything wrong to warrant being taken to the ICC.
“The threat by the Devolution CS is an act of intimidation that will not stop the opposition from pushing for reforms at the IEBC,” he said during the interview.
Kaluma accused the Jubilee MPs of fueling hatred and inciting the public against NASA top leaders.
He alleged that the government is afraid of losing in the repeat election and wants to curtail opposition activities.
The Homa Bay Town MP urged NASA supporters and Kenyans at large to ignore CS Kiunjuri’s threats and exercise peace as they prepare to vote in the repeat poll.
On Saturday, Kiunjuri was quoted allegedly saying that Raila will be handed to the ICC if violence erupts in the country before, during or after the October 26 repeat presidential election.
The Devolution CS claimed that Odinga and his NASA troops are fueling tension in the country ad are not committed to the country’s peace.
On Sunday, Odinga asked his supporters to stage peaceful demonstration outside the IEBC offices at Anniversary Towers in order to have the commission CEO Ezra Chiloba and others who allegedly bungled the August 8 presidential election exit office.
