An ODM MP has denied claims that he is seeking to succeed Kisii County governor James Ongwae in 2022.
Simba Arati MP Dagoretti North on Friday speaking in Nairobi when he met professionals from Kisii region said he is not interested in the Kisii governor seat in 2022.
"I am comfortable being a politician in the city. Those claiming that I want to vie for Kisii governorship in 2022 are spreading propaganda because I have not announced such plans anywhere and I am not ready to vie the Kisii top seat,” he said.
The vocal MP said he interested to see Gusii politicians united and nothing else.
"I have plans to make our leaders from Kisii and Nyamira County unite and have one voice.Those eying Kisii governorship in 2022 should stop panicking since I will not be part of those seeking the seat,” he added.
The lawmaker urged elected leaders from Gusii region to focus on developing the region instead of engaging in hatred politics which will derail development.
