Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has refuted claims that he has resigned from Opposition party Amani National Congress, an affiliate of NASA.
Speaking on Wednesday, Osotsi, who is also the party's Secretary General distanced himself from a letter doing rounds on Social Media purportedly written by him informing the public that he has withdrawn his membership from the outfit.
The letter asserted that the lawmaker's decision to resign from the party has been informed by the incessant infighting and lack of common party strategy.
However, in a quick rejoinder, the legislator urged NASA supporters to treat the letter with contempt, maintaining that he is still a firm and committed member of the Opposition coalition.
“We have seen this many times when our opponents try to malign our names through propaganda just to see NASA has collapsed. I am firmly in NASA,” he remarked.
“As NASA we will not be distracted by such fake letters by our opponents. We are solidly together and what we are doing now is waiting the decision from IEBC on the way forward as regards to the October 26 repeat poll. Anything else is sideshows and we shall not engage in,” he added.
