Kinango MP Benjamin Tayari has sent a stern warning to land grabbers in the constituency.Speaking in Tzunza on Sunday during his homecoming, Tayari assured residents that he will do everything possible to ensure public land in the constituency is not grabbed by private developers. The MP dismissed claims that the Mwadudu Primary School, which is reported to have been grabbed by a private developer will be relocated.“Under my leadership, no one will take what belongs to us. We will fight them,” said Tayari, as quoted by The Star.He hit out at the Jubilee government, accusing the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration of failing to solve historical land injustices in the Coast region.Tayari further urged the government to ensure residents who were relocated to pave way for the construction of the Dongo-Kundu Bypass are compensated. His sentiments were reiterated by Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi who termed the Jubilee government as an enemy of the Coast, accusing it of using the resources in the region for its selfish interest at the expense of residents.“The coastal community has suffered a lot at the hands of selfish leaders. As Coast leaders, we are saying no to more injustices,” he said.
