NASA allied MP, Richard Onyonka on Wednesday opposed the plans by the Opposition to swear in Raila Odinga as president.According to the Kitutu Chache MP, the plans to swear in Raila have been overturned by the fact that Uhuru Kenyatta has already been sworn in by the law courts.Mr. Onyonka said Odinga does not have the military to run the country and for this reason he said Odinga will not have the necessary powers to execute his duty as stipulated by the constitution."For me it's not something to discuss, it has been overtaken by events. Raila does not have the instruments of power, he does not have the military," he noted according to Kenyans.co.ke.Onyonka however did not support the idea that Odinga should retire from politics. He instead urged him to hold meaningful talks with the president so as to improve the political situation in the country."This country is bigger than all of us; I think the political elites in the country should engage in talks that would better the country," he addedOnyonka won by election that was held in Kitutu Chache constituency in Kisii after a candidate died in a road accident few days to August 8 general elections.
