Likoni MP Mishi Mboko wants President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to reveal the source of their campaign money ahead of the repeat presidential election.Speaking to journalists in Mombasa on Sunday, Mboko claimed UhuRuto could be using taxpayers’ money to fund their campaign. She called for an audit of UhuRuto’s campaigns, adding that it is illegal for a sitting president to campaign using State resources.“President Kenyatta and his Jubilee party should tell Kenyans the source of the money they are using to fund their extravagant campaigns,” said Mboko as quoted by the Nation.Mboko also criticised UhuRuto for constantly mentioning NASA leader Raila Odinga’s name during their campaigns, arguing that the two have run out of campaign ideas. She said the opposition coalition is not afraid of the repeat presidential election, adding that they will humiliate Uhuru at the ballot.“We have the numbers to win this repeat election and Uhuru should prepare to hand over power,” she said. This comes after a section of Jubilee politicians criticised NASA’s move to appeal for financial aid to fund their campaign.NASA has set up a pay bill number where supporters are contributing money to fund Raila’s campaigns ahead of the October 17 repeat presidential election.
