Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has poked holes into President Uhuru Kenyatta's Sh300 million swearing-in ceremony terming it extremely extravagant.The Wiper MP observes that Uhuru's swearing-in does not warrant such an amount claiming that it is a waste of taxpayers money.Speaking to journalists in Athi-River Town on Friday, Makau said there is nothing new that will be happening during Uhuru's Tuesday inauguration."It is shameful for a government that has failed to deliver key services to the people to spend Sh300 million to swear in a president whose legitimacy is questionable," he said.Makau said that the millions being used on Uhuru's inauguration could be used to address key issues facing Kenyans.The Wiper MP claimed that the extravagant spending is an indication that Jubilee administration is not keen on prudently utilizing taxpayers money and public resources and is out to loot.Makau said that Kenyans will this time not watch Uhuru's government allegedly misuse their taxes.On Friday, Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua revealed that Uhuru's swearing-in will cost taxpayers Sh300 million.He said that the swearing in the budget is within range since the government expects top world leaders to grace the event.Uhuru will be sworn in on Tuesday to serve his second and final term after the supreme court upheld his victory in the controversial October 26 repeat presidential election that the opposition boycotted.
