Jubilee administration led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto is the reason why IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba has not resigned, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi has claimed.According to Wandayi, who is also the ODM Secretary for Political Affairs, Jubilee has been 'protecting' Chiloba, making him not to quit despite intensified protests by NASA supporters."It's clear the apparent protection from the Jubilee high command has given Chiloba a false sense of indispensability. But he needs to be reminded that political protection never lasts forever," he wrote in an opinion piece published by Sunday Standard. The MP said that Chiloba should have quit office immediately after the Supreme Court nullified the August 8 election due to irregularities and illegalities committed by the IEBC."As the head of the secretariat, the buck stops with him. He is the face of impunity at the IEBC and no reforms will ever materialise as long as he is around," Wandayi added. The lawmaker further said the Opposition will continue with demonstrations to push for electoral reforms, adding that no intimidation from the Government that will stop them."For us, our consolation is that we have chosen to be on the right side if history. We are in this struggle for as long as it takes," he added.
