Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has asked President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta to apologise to NASA leaders for claiming they used witchcraft to intimidate his supporters during Thursday’s repeat presidential election.Wamalwa said Uhuru’s remarks were in bad taste, adding that NASA leaders have no links to witchcraft.Speaking during an interview on KTN News Morning Express Show on Tuesday, Wamalwa said Uhuru’s remarks amount to hate speech. He stated that NASA leaders are believers and linking them to witchcraft amounts to disrespecting their faith.“President Kenyatta should apologise because his remarks were in bad faith and meant to shame NASA leaders,” said Wamalwa. The MP said Uhuru’s remarks could jeopardise the push for unity among Kenyans following the controversial repeat election that saw him declared the winner. In his speech on Monday shortly after he was declared the winner, Uhuru hit out at opposition leaders alleging that they used witchcraft to intimidate his supporters in an attempt to prevent them from taking part in the repeat poll.NASA leader Raila Odinga who withdrew from the repeat election is expected to give his supporters direction on the next course of action today (Tuesday).
