Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir has blasted President Uhuru Kenyatta over his remarks that he his administration has Muslims' interests at heart.

Speaking during anti-IEBC protests in Mombasa, the lawmaker noted that Uhuru's assertions were hypocritical after the Head of State remarked that he has appointed four Muslims into his cabinet.

Uhuru made the remarks on Sunday during his tour of the Coast region.

"We have given four CS positions as my brother [Sheikh] Khalifa has said. In Parliament, we've given [you] the Leader of Majority," Uhuru pointed out.

However, in a quick rejoinder, the Mvita lawmaker stated that the Jubilee administration has led a systemic "extinction operation" against the Muslims since it assumed power in 2013.

"On Sunday, we shall reveal Uhuru's hypocrisy. He says the Somalis are not marginalised, yet he helped set up the Kasarani camp," he said.

"He claims he has our interests at heart. Has he forgotten about Masjid Musa?" He posed.

The Opposition coalition NASA is scheduled to hold a rally in Mombasa on Sunday.
