Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo has warned President Uhuru Kenyatta's government against encouraging police brutality.The Wiper MP said it is a shame that police officers continue meting out brutality despite the reforms the force has been undergoing over the years.Speaking to journalists in Kisauni Town on Tuesday, Mbogo also questioned President Uhuru's silence on the alleged police brutality against NASA supporters.“The police have committed atrocities against innocent Kenyans but the president continues to remain silent,” said Mbogo.The Wiper MP said the constitution is clear on the rights of assembly and that the move by the police to continuously deny NASA leaders and supporters their right to assembly is against the law."It is shameful that our police force has not reformed and is still executing acts of impunity,” he said.The first time lawmaker said Uhuru has to move with speed and ensure police observe the law even as they discharge their duties.He said the Kenyan police force is tainting the country's image to the rest of the world.The MP condemned the police for denying NASA leaders to hold their rally at Jacaranda grounds on Tuesday, adding that they had already secured a license.He said the opposition coalition will not give up on its quest to push for reforms.Raila and his supporters were on Tuesday denied access to Jacaranda grounds to conduct a requiem mass for victims of police brutality.In a brief address to his supporters at Manyanja road, Raila said he does not recognise Uhuru's presidency, adding that he will be sworn-in on December 12 by the people's assembly.
