Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has received a rare heap of praises from opposition allied MPs following his 'distinguished' reforms in the sector.

Since taking over fro Jacob Kaimenyi, Matiang'i has undoubtedly been the epicenter of various reforms including rolling out of the proposed new education system 2-6-6-3.

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi (Wiper) said the system would help shape diminishing education standards by promoting skills among learners.

"He is undoubtedly incredible. I have seen significant changes in the system and hopefully the new system shall work out," he said.

Speaking separately, West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi (Ford Kenya) urged all stakeholders to back Matiang'i initiated reforms.

"In my view, he has done pretty well and we have to support the significant changes he is making. This is the only way to regain our lost glory."

The current system is expected to fizzle out by 2026 when the last batch of KCSE candidates is expected to sit for national exams.
