National Super Alliance Members of Parliament have filed a case at the Milimani Law Courts seeking court orders to suspend the decision to withdraw their security detail.
The 141 lawmakers also want the state ordered to return firearm licences.
The 141 legislators have questioned the legal foundation of the move by the Inspector General of Police and the Firearms Licencing Board.
The lawmakers are represed by advocate George Miyare.
The MPs led by Homa Bay Town legislator Opondo Kaluma said that their security officers only received verbal communication on January 30th 2018 to report back to their work stations without further explanation.
The opposition lawmakers have termed the move as ill motivated and meant to expose them to insecurity and disfranchise their services to the people who elected them.
They further want the court to order the IG to reinstate their security and suspend the order by Firearms Licencing Board pending hearing and determination of the case.
