Parliament building in Nairobi where Nasa MPs have vowed to boycott the first sitting. Analyst says it would be a 'foolish' move. [Photo: nation. co.ke] It will be 'foolish' for Nasa-allied MPs not to attend the first sitting of Parliament until the Supreme Court makes a decision on the legality of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s election.Political Analyst Edward Kisangani has said that it will be of 'greater good' for Nasa MPs and their constituents to attend the first sitting saying President Uhuru Kenyatta summoned the 12th Parliament legally."This country needs to move forward together. The action of the President to call Parliament is legal. The powers the President have in his temporary incumbency state are clearly stated. Summoning Parliament is within his powers. Until the President hands over power, there are no discussions, he is still the head of State," Kisiangani told Citizen TV on Thursday.President Kenyatta through a notice in the Kenya Gazette, summoned the 12th Parliament for the first sitting on Thursday next week. But MPs affiliated to Nasa insist they will boycott the ceremony until the matters surrounding President Kenyatta 'supposed' re-election are heard and 'credibly' determined."There is a rush certainly, suicidal in our view, by Mr Kenyatta to defraud Kenyans into believing that all is well and that he is rightly and properly in office. Nasa rejects this fraudulent attempt by Jubilee to bury reality," Suna East MP elect Junet Mohamed said on Thursday in a statement. However, Suba MP John Mbadi, speaking on Citizen TV's Opinion Court program, said that Nasa will take a common position on Friday (today) after consulting with other coalition's constituent parties.
