Opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) have differed over calls for dialogue between Jubilee and NASA and on plans to swear in their leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka on January 30.
While National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi says NASA is ready to abandon oath plans and hold talks with Jubilee, if President Uhuru Kenyatta invites them, his colleague Nominated MP George Osotsi is reading from different scripts.
According to Mbadi, the opposition had made its stand known concerning the calls for talks, adding that NASA would be ready for dialogue once Jubilee Party was ready for engagement.
"We have discussed this matter on several occasions and our position is known by everybody. If Uhuru is ready for talks, let him tell us and we will sit down and engage him," the Suba South legislator told The Standard on Thursday.
However, Osotsi, the former Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General), said NASA was focused on the much-awaited January 30 fete and thus can only engage the ruling coalition once Raila is inaugurated as the 'people's president'.
"The focus now is on the planned swearing in of Raila. We want to swear him in so that when they engage in a talk (with Uhuru), it would be between two presidents," the first-time legislator said.
