Raphael Tuju has said NASA’s anti-IEBC demonstrations are no different than terrorism threats and attacks.

Speaking on Thursday during an interview with a local TV station, Tuju said the demonstrations were a major cause of worry with the country heading to the polls, and was totally unacceptable.

“They are playing on peoples fear. That is the same play terrorists play on us… blackmail, blackmail, blackmail,” said Tuju

He added: “We cannot have people blackmail Kenyans that if it does not go their way, they will go to the streets,"

The NASA team has been hitting the streets since last week, in an effort to force out IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and other commissioners.

Last week’s demonstrations saw another group; Nairobi Business Community counter the opposition demos, in an effort to fight back what they termed as destruction of property.

Government spokesperson Erick Kiraithe has as well spoken on the matter, saying the demonstrators will not be allowed in the CBD.

The Supreme Court nullified president Kenyatta’s win in August, citing illegalities and irregularities in the whole exercise.

The NASA coalition is holding to their demands that needs to be met before they go to the elections, with only a few days left.
