President Uhuru Kenyatta has retaliated that the Opposition coalition NASA leaders are not ready for the August polls.

Speaking in Kabarnet on Sunday, Uhuru claimed that there was a plot by NASA to boycott the August polls, maintaining that elections must go on as earlier planned.

"We have been silent for a while now because of respect. As Jubilee, we are ready to accept people's decision through their votes and it is not because we fear them," he said.

"Mr story teller (Raila) we are not afraid of you. The behaviour of standing and threatening everyone, look for someone else to threaten not us. We are not afraid we are silent because we respect and want peace," he added.

He further affirmed his commitment to ensure that the forthcoming polls remain free and fair, adding that he will concede defeat should he lose the polls.
