The National Super Alliance (Nasa) has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to change his stand and participate in the presidential debate.
In a press statement sent on Monday, the opposition acknowledged it had held talks with debate organizers.
According to NASA, sticky issues had been iron out.
“At our final meeting last Thursday, Nasa and the Commission reached agreement on the principal points about the debate format, including the issues to be discussed, the moderators, the audience and the venue,” said Salim Lone, adviser to Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga.Lone further addedIn that organizers had revealed that no communication had come from PresidInInent Uhuru’s camp.
On July 5, both President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga had announced they would boycott the debate.
