Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate Dr Ekuru Aukot has dismissed the Nasa poll that indicates that the so-called 'second-tier' presidential candidates will only attract one percent of the registered voters.Aukot has said that the poll is a mind game meant to propel Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga into the minds of Kenyans by putting him ahead of everybody else."It is now clear that polls in this country cannot be relied upon by anyone. They are paid for by politicians to send a particular message. This is why as a presidential candidate I refused a presidential debate where candidates are classified on the basis of opinion polling because they are biased," Aukot said on K24 TV Alfajiri TV show. However, political strategist George Ndonji said Raila has a right and has not erred anywhere in conducting his own opinion poll to know where he stands in the presidential race."Raila has a right to hire pollsters just to know where he stands in the competition he is facing but it is not in his business to put it in the papers and have people believe it. But you can do it for your own consumption and if the media decide to report on it, well and good," Ndonji said. The opinion poll that puts Raila Odinga ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta by a slight margin has only been reported by the Star on the mainstream media.
