Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has been taken to court over nomination process in Dagoretti North.
The son of former minister Fred Gumo, Magero has taken ANC party to court over shambolic nominations that saw him lose the ticket.
The complainant, who was contesting for the parliamentary seat, wants the court to probe ANC secretary general Geoffrey Osotsi and other officials over election malpractices that were witnessed during the primaries.
The aspirant has said that Mudavadi, also NASA co-principal’s party had gone against regulations and rules of nomination during the exercise. He argued that the nomination of Amos Bernard Shilibwa was undertaken unprocedurally after the party had been issued with a court ordered barring the issuance of nomination certificate to any candidate.
"The directions issued by this court have been flouted and abused by the officials and agents of ANC," he said.
He also lamented that Mudavadi’s party did not adhere to the principles outlined in the constitution and the Elections Act.
The aspirant also said that the move has cost him a lot of money, adding that the name of his opponent was presented to the Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission before the nominations were conducted, which he termed as unacceptable. Gumo’s son now wants the chair of party jailed for going against the court order to declare his opponent the winner of the primaries.
