Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has told off Kajiado Central MP Kanchori Memusi over claims that the government is planning to eliminate him.
Last week, the ODM MP recorded a statement at the Parliament Police Station claiming that his life was in danger.Memusi alleged that Kajiado County Commissioner Harsama Kellow was after his life.He also accused Kellow of forcing area chiefs to campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection through the issuance of relief food.But Lenku hit out at the legislator accusing him of undermining national government's activities in the region."Memusi is learning bad politics from his NASA principals. He is unhappy with government efforts to address hunger in the area. He should be supporting Jubilee administration, not attacking it, for helping our people," the Governor who was accompanied by his deputy Martin Mashisho said on Tuesday.Rift Valley regional coordinator Wanyama Musiambo warned the MP against fighting government officials in the county."What he is doing is politicising drought management efforts at a time when both the county and the national governments are jointly addressing the challenges," Musiambo said.
