NASA running mate Kalonzo Musyoka has outlined what their government will prioritize if they win in August. Speaking during the launch of opposition manifesto, Kalonzo said that poverty eradication NASA’s priority.
“Eradication of poverty is goal number one,” Kalonzo said.
The other thing that Raila Odinga will front as a president is food security. He has been at the forefront of attacking Jubilee for starving Kenyans and his manifesto has a special place for feeding Kenyans. According to opposition, food will come first as they try to fight poverty among other national disasters.
“No responsible government would allow a country to deplete its strategic food reserve and then go around blaming drought. Under a NASA government, we shall never run out of food. It will be food first,” reads part of the manifesto.
Odinga’s deputy Kalonzo Musyoka was quick to remind Kenyans how they have found it hard to feed themselves under the Jubilee regime. He said that the government is responsible for the Unga shortage and NASA will fix that. He pledged to work warmly with the private sector.
“Unga is important. It should be milled with full government support. Denying people food is undermining them. We will work with the private sector,” Musyoka said.
