Opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) now says that it could reconsider it suspension of the People's Assembly formation process.
The formation was suspended on Monday, days after the alliance chief Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta reached an agreement to jointly spearhead a national healing process
However, speaking on Citizen Extra on Citizen TV Tuesday, NASA strategist David Ndii raised alarm over a possible betrayal with regards to the Odinga-Kenyatta pact, saying that the team behind the formation was giving the duo the ''benefit of doubt''.
He maintained that the committee steering the formation will resume its operations should the pact prove futile.
''We have a history of betrayal in this country. We are not doing this because we trust each other. We are giving each other the benefit of doubt. We don’t trust each other,'' Ndii is quoted by the Citizen Digital.
He noted that the approach is non political but rather out of the two leaders' goodwill, saying that both leaders and their teams have to commit themselves to the pact for the realization of the dream.
''This is a process where two leaders have said they are going out to reconcile their people. This is not a political negotiation but a leadership initiative that requires only commitment. Even for them it’s very difficult. It is a major psychological step for them,'' Ndii is further quoted.
