The National Super Alliance (Nasa) now demands that the voters register which will be used in August 8, polls, be audited a fresh.
This is after several errors were noticed in the register, after the
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) released an SMS code 70000 and an online platform, for Kenyans to verify their voter registration details, Thursday.
Some ID numbers of deceased Kenyans and letters keyed in the register, would reveal that they were valid voters, raising questions.
Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga's advisor, Salim Lone, addressed the press, saying the register raised worrying questions that should be addressed faster, before the elections date.Citing names of dead voters in the register, Lone noted the register was flawed."Voters who died as far back as 2013 are still in the register," he said, Friday.
At some point, the register identified the late government critic, Jacob Juma, as a valid voter.
"Nasa therefore demands that a dry run of the Electronic Voter System, be conducted as soon as possible," said Lone.
