The Opposition coalition NASA has chided religious leaders for failing to act as the voice of reason amid the current political stalemate.
Speaking in Vihiga on Saturday, NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi put the clergy on the spot over their responsibility in resolving political crises in the country.
He, however welcomed the Catholic Bishops of Kenya push for dialogue, but questioned their 'lateness in agitating for dialogue to solve the standoff.'
"The Catholic Church is now calling for dialogue. But where have they been all this time?" He posed.
"We welcome their gesture but they buried their heads in the sand all this time," he added.
Mudavadi further added that NASA will continue to push for electoral reforms, maintaining that the outfit does not recognize the reelection victory of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"We do not recognise the elections of August 8 and October 26," he noted.
"We want a new constitutional arrangement, electoral justice and respect for every vote cast," he added.
