[Photo| the-star]A section of Nyanza leaders have responded to a recent move by some Jubilee politicians who held a meeting on Friday in Nairobi to discuss the economic empowerment of Nyanza region.The meeting dubbed Nyanza Empowerment Dialogues was attended by Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, former Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba, ex-assistant minister Danson Mungatana, former Nyeri Woman Rep Priscila Nyokabi, and Jubilee strategist Peter Kagwanja.ODM Secretary for Political Affairs Opiyo Wandayi and Kisumu Senator Fred Outa accused the Jubilee leaning politicians of planning to use the money to discredit the leadership of Nyanza counties.“We know everything they are planning but those are busybodies seeking relevance. They should be ignored. History is replete with examples of such cases. Out of their selfish interests, some people would join the oppressor against the oppressed and attempt to revise history," Wandayi said.Wandayi and Outa further questioned why the forum was being held in Nairobi and why it lacked leaders from the Nyanza region. “Here in Nyanza, we have leaders and distinguished professionals who can speak on empowerment of their people. It's not Namwamba, Nyokabi, and Kagwanja,” Outa noted.
