The National Super Alliance (NASA) recognises the presidency of Uhuru Kenyatta, a Member of Parliament has claimed.
Mumias East legislator Ben Washiali, who is also the National Assembly Majority Whip, said the sustained demands by the opposition to have a dialogue with Uhuru is a clear indication that they honour him as the head of State.
"They (NASA) want to negotiate with Jubilee. This is a way of recognising us (Jubilee Party) by agreeing to sit and talk," he said, in his New Year message published by the Standard on Wednesday.
Washiali said the opposition should stop living in denial after suffering defeat in the last elections, urging them to join hands with Jubilee in moving the country forward.
"Those who claim they do not recognise us should accept the fact that we are the majority in terms of political qualification. But, in the interest of the country and to spur development, let's work together this year," he said.
The MP called on the leaders across the political divide to forget their differences and forge ahead on a common front.
"2018 should be a year to forgive each other and forge ahead as a country," Washiali added.
