On Monday while addressing the leaders from Ukambani and Western Kenya at the State House, Uhuru said they as Jubilee have the numbers and will smoothly impeach Odinga in three months if he wins.
"Even if he is elected we have the opportunity in parliament within two or three months and we impeach him," said Uhuru.
According to NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula the statement by Uhuru was nonsensical and was made out of no proper legal factual base hence it holds no water.
"I have already twitted on that reckless statement by the president. It clearly shows how ill informed the president is about the provinsions of our Constitution Article 145," said Wetangula.
"Jubilee as currently constituted neither has a super majority in the National Assembly or the Senate and you cannot successfully impeach a president until and unless you garner at least two-third of each house," he added.
Wetangula further claimed the utterances by Uhuru are a clear indication of panoc mood in the Jubilee camp.
"Secondly, it show the level of desperations that the president is displaying by pressing each panic button before we go to the polls. He has no capacity within his coalition to impeach Raila," said Wetangula.
He further added that the impeachment process is rigorous and Uhuru must submit the charges he has on Raila before the impeachment motion can see the light of day.
"Remember, the process of impeachment starts from the National Assembly if they have a two-third vote then they go to the Senate for a full trial and when it is concluded and finds the president guilty of the charges laid then a vote of two-thirds can seal the impeachment," he said.
"So what are the charges Uhuru has against Raila this is just reckless speculation that is not consistent with the conduct of a president," he added.
Wetanagula was speaking during a press brief in the company of Raila Odinga at the Capitol hill offices on Monday while addressing the Tetanus jabs for women.
