In an interview on Radio Citizen Monday, the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) lawmaker alleged that his Jubilee counterparts have lately been introducing legislation proposals aimed at depriving county governments of their constitutional allocations.

He revealed that most of the proposals are aimed at ensuring that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have the final say on each and every issue, including the ones that are constitutionally placed under Governors.

''Most of the new laws being proposed by our counterparts from the Jubilee side, some of which we have successfully opposed, are aimed at strengthening the executive at the expense of the county governments,'' he said.

Coming amid a new friendship between the Orange Party and Jubilee, following a recent meeting between the two party heads, President Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga, where the two agreed to shelve their political enmity and unite in addressing national issues, the Senator stressed on the need for both sides to join hands in a move to enhance the lower governments.

''Our colleagues from Jubilee should now join us in strengthening counties for the benefit of Kenyans,'' said Ole Kina.
