Makueni Senator elect Mutula Kilonzo Junior has exuded confidence that NASA will triumph in the presidential petition filed in the Supreme Court.

Mutula says that they (NASA) have concrete evidence which he claims will lead to the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

Addressing supporters in Mbooni Town on Saturday, the Wiper senator said that they (NASA) will prove to the court that Jubilee’s win was allegedly not genuine.

“We (NASA) are confidence of favorable outcome basing on the evidence we (NASA) have in regards to the presidential petition before the Supreme Court,” he said as quoted by the Standard.

Senator Mutula Junior asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to start preparing for another presidential election.

The Makueni senator, however, appealed to NASA supporters to be peaceful as they wait for the Supreme Court verdict.

The senator assured NASAS supporters that the journey to ‘Canaan’ is still alive. He also asked NASA supporters and Kenyans at large to pray for the country’s peace stating that despite their political differences and affiliations their unity is what matters most.

The Supreme Court has started hearing the petition filed by NASA challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in the recently concluded general election.

The opposition (NASA) in the petition claims that it was robbed of victory through alleged ‘doctoring’ of numbers in favor of Jubilee.

On Saturday, the Supreme Court led by Chief justice David Maraga held a pre-trial conference in readiness for the formal hearing of the petition that starts on Monday.

NASA, Jubilee and respondents in the petition have lined up best lawyers to argue in their favour.

The Supreme Court is later expected to make a judgment this week with the clergy urging Jubilee and NASA politicians to accept and respect the court’s verdict.
