In a sitting Tuesday, moments after the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) senators dethroned Wetangula from the post, Omogeni laughed at his initial remarks that he would fight off the ejection.

The Ford-Kenya party leader had earlier vowed to stay put, saying that his ouster will not be easy and will be noisy and messy, with Omogeni now saying that the remarks were mere noise.

"He told us that he was unmovable and was not going anywhere but where is he now? Actually, the more he continues to struggle the more he will sink," said Omogeni.

The remarks were echoed by Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang', who advised Wetangula to now drop his pride and consider joining the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga in his push for national cohesion.

Coming at a time when the ODM party leader has since reached a peace pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kajwang' urged Wetangula to use his newfound freedom to join the two.

"It is now the appropriate time for him to join Odinga and Kenyatta in their unity campaign. He is now free from house leadership responsibilities and will have more time engaging the leaders in he ongoing initiative," said Kajwang'.
