Vihiga Senator George Khaniri, has criticised the Jubilee government after it arrested two NASA politicians and threatened to arrest many others following the controversial swearing-in of the coalition leader Raila Odinga.
Khaniri who was elected on an ANC party ticket, wondered why the government did not arrest Odinga, yet he was the one who took the oath.
The government through the Ministry of Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i warned that more arrests would be made following the January 30, incident at Uhuru Park.
NASA politicians, lawyers Miguna Miguna and T.J Kajwang were arrested, detained and arraigned in court following the incident.
"Why are they arresting us? We only attended a wedding as bridal party. We only carried flowers to the wedding yet they're after us. Why are they not arresting the bridegroom? He's here, they should come arrest him," said Khaniri on Saturday.
The lawmaker was speaking during the burial service of the late Justus Etale, father to Philip Etale - the ODM party Communications Director in Luanda, Vihiga County.
On his part, Odinga who declared himself People's President accused the Jubilee leadership of blatant violation of the Constitution and human rights through disobeying of court orders and harassment by police.
