Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) chief Raila Odinga over their Friday meeting.
In a tweet, hours after the meeting, Senator Kina noted hailed the two leaders' decision as a good move that will benefit the nation which is currently facing political division.
He added that the same is a fresh start for the nation, likening it to the construction of bridges for a new Kenya.
''Building bridges for a new Kenya. Raila Odinga meeting Uhuru Kenyatta at Harambee House. Is a new start for this nation,'' he tweeted.
The meeting, which was held at Harambee House in Nairobi, took the nation by surprise and saw the two sworn rivals come together for the first time after the August 8 and its October 26 presidential races.
The meeting was centered on uniting the nation, with the duo, in a joint statement, pledging to iron out their political differences for the benefit of the nation.
''The time has come for us to confront and resolve our differences. These differences are becoming too entrenched,'' said Odinga in a statement.
''My brother and I have therefore come together today to say this descent stops here,'' the statement further read.
