[Photo/zipo.co.ke]The National Super Alliance (NASA) now says it is ready to cancel the planned swearing-in of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka on January 30.The opposition coalition will suspend the event if President Uhuru Kenyatta publicy admits that the October 26, 2017 repeat presidential election was a sham.According to NASA top strategist David Ndii, should that happen, they will consider calling off the oath plan."If Uhuru admits the October election was a sham, we might consider having a conversation to see whether it is worth suspending the swearing-in. But that admission has to be significant and agree to repudiate the election and illegitimate presidency," he said on Thursday, as quoted by the Standard.Previouly, the opposition had said they were ready to suspend the swearing in if Uhuru invites them for dialogue over electoral reforms. But on Thursday, Kalonzo said time for talks was over and NASA would only engage Jubilee after oathing."They have rejected our offer for dialogue. Now will see what happens after January 30th," said the Wiper leader.Ndii, who is one of the People’s Assembly Organising Committee members, claimed that victory was stolen from NASA in the August 8 poll, and it is on that basis they will swear in their leaders."We reiterate that the swearing in is a reclamation of the NASA presidential election victory of August 8, 2017 which the Supreme Court of Kenya validated by annulling the Uhuru Kenyatta win," Ndii said.He added: "Jubilee then carried out a sham election and a coup on the people of Kenya on October 26th and is now exercising an illegitimate presidency."Ndii was speaking at the Okoa Kenya offices at Lavington, Nairobi.
