Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto maintains that Kalenjin community will vote for the opposition despite perceptions that it will back President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection.

The community voted for Raila Odinga in 2007 elections before shifting camp in 2013 following the fallout between Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.

But the rebellious for Jubilee ally says the community has since joined NASA due to unfulfilled promises by the Jubilee administration.

“Do not be fooled that Kalenjins will vote Jubilee. That was in 2013 and things have changed since them. I am sure that we shall vote NASA in large numbers,” said Rutto during Sunday’s rally.

“It’s just a matter of time the reality dawns of some conservatives who think they will colonize he community forever,” he said in an indirect reference to DP Ruto.

While Kenyatta will be depending on his DP for Rift Valley votes, opposition leader Raila Odinga is banking on the outspoken Bomet governor who has since formed CCM party to rival Jubilee.
