Kimilili MP, Didmus Barasa, has disapproved NASA’s anti-IEBC demonstrations terming them as misplaced and unconstitutional.
Speaking on KTN News Sunday, Barasa pointed out that the matter is already being looked into by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko saying that the alliance should instead be pressuring him to issue a fast response on the same.
He also said that NASA’s interference and threats on the IEBC risk hindering the commissions operations as it prepares approaching presidential election.
‘’This is an issue already before the DPP and NASA should instead be demonstrating to pressure the DPP to release a speedy report and not the electoral body. IEBC should instead be left to work towards delivering the repeat poll,’’ said the Jubilee-allied lawmaker.
He also took a swipe at the Raila Odinga-led alliance accusing it of blindly picking a fight with the IEBC maintaining that NASA should argue from an informed point.
‘’NASA should have audited IEBC’s preparedness and response to its demands before starting its attacks,’’ he said.
