[Photo: the-star.co.ke]National Super Alliance (NASA) has nothing to do with the petition in the Supreme Court challenging the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta.According to Former Machakos County Senator Johnstone Muthama, the Opposition alliance doesn't recognise October 26 repeat election since its leaders- Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka- boycotted the poll."You will realise that we pulled out of the fresh election because of IEBC's determination to coronate Uhuru. So it became Jubilee nomination and as a result, we cannot be party to the petition," said Muthama on Saturday while addressing journalists at Okoa Kenya offices, Nairobi.NASA has been named as the fourth respondent in a petition filed by civil activists Njonjo Mue and Khelef Khalifa. The petitioners accuse police of 'provoking voters in regions perceived to be Opposition strongholds to resent voting and thus keep off polling'.In its response, the Raila-led coalition corroborates the petitioners' allegation of widespread violence instigated by police in counties in the Nyanza region."NASA supports the petition in toto save for the specific and particular allegations made against the 4th respondent, its principals or agents," state the Opposition.NASA'S lead lawyers include Senator James Orengo, Paul Mwangi, Otiende Omollo, Jackson Awele and Pheroze Nowrojee. The top court will make its much-awaited judgment on November 20.
