The opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) has outlined its agenda for the Western region as it officially launched its campaigns in preparation for the August poll.

According to Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi, NASA remains steadfast at ensuring the vote-rich region which he says has been sidelined by the Jubilee government in development is apportioned its rightful share of the national cake.“NASA remains committed to reviving Western’s agricultural sector by spurring production through improved husbandry practices and access to quality and affordable and available inputs as well as develop community-owned youth-driven value addition agricultural and extractive industries,” Mudavadi said on Sunday.“We also plan to establish a dry port in the region and establish market linkages with the rest of the country and region into the Great Lakes and beyond.”NASA leaders kicked off their campaigns in Kakamega’s Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday assuring Western residents of the coalition’s commitment in uplifting livelihoods in the region constituted by the counties of Kakamega, Bungoma, Vihiga, Busia and Trans Nzoia.“A NASA government will facilitate access to friendly credit and financial services and cancel financial burdens visited on the community by AFC loans and others and create a new beginning,” the ANC leader said.“Our government will also diversify and harness cultural and sports talents among youth of the region and build strong eco-tourism platforms.”He said at no time incase NASA wins the August election will residents of the agriculturally endowed region regret for voting for the coalition led by Raila Odinga.Mudavadi is the brainchild of NASA, a political outfit that brings together Raila, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, Isaac Ruto and himself.Western region boasts of a huge number of registered voters who if whipped to vote to the last man can increase NASA’s chances of clinching victory in the August presidential election.
