NASA strategist Joseph Simekha has said plans to swear-in NASA deputy leader Kalonzo Musyoka are still on course.
Kalonzo failed to show up during the controversial swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga, on January 30, a move that elicited mixed reactions from NASA supporters and critics.
He alongside co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula later explained that they were locked in a room after their security detail was withdrawn to prevent them from participating in the event at Uhuru Park grounds, Nairobi.
On Tuesday, Simekha declined to approve or dismiss reports that Kalonzo who is also the Wiper Democratic Movement leader would be sworn-in on February 28, and officially help Odinga in working as 'People's President'.
"I'm glad you've said it is a rumour. What happened on January 30 was the most important thing," Simekha said in response to a question during a TV interview on Tuesday afternoon.
Days after Odinga-inauguration, residents who had put on ODM party-branded t-shirts staged demonstrations in Mombasa demanding that Governor Ali Hassan Joho should be sworn-in to deputise Raila.
They accused Kalonzo of being a coward who abandoned Raila when he needed him most.
