The NASA coalition has suffered a major blow after one of their vocal crusaders ditched the alliance for Jubilee's affiliate partner Kanu.

Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno’s has quit NASA affiliate Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) and resorted to join Jubilee's affiliate Kanu.

This move will now complicate the NASA political equation in Narok County.

Last week, Ngeno  surprised many when he declared his support for the Independence party whose policies do not resonate with CCM'S stand.

However, this latest move has been interpretted to support the suspicion that Kanu and CCM are working together so as to win most parliamentary seats, a tact that aims at thwarting Deputy President William Ruto’s dominance in Rift Valley.

“Ngeno’s move is tactical. The parties are working together to frustrate DP Ruto and ultimately render him useless ahead of 2022 when he is expected to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta,” says Path Naikumi, Political Science lecturer at Maasai Mara University.
