The National Super Alliance (Nasa) has suffered it's first setback after the Laikipia MCAs rejected the coalition's call for the formation of a People's Assembly.
The MCAs led by Majority Leader Peter Thomi said NASA's move was not welcomed in the county.Speaking on Friday at the assembly premises, Thomi said that the opposition leaders were are out to benefit themselves. "Raila Odinga had time to go to school and study and earn himself a living, why would he try force people to follow him while they are hungry, impoverished and hopeless," the Star quotes Thomi. The Githiga MCA added, "We will not listen to them."Irene Wachuka, a nominated MCA, criticised the opposition leaders for calling on their supporters to boycott certain products noting the move amounts to economic sabotage. So far for counties allied to Nasa have already passed the motion. They include Siaya, Homa Bay, Busia and Vihiga.
