The decision by NASA supremo, Raila Odinga, to abandon the swearing-in option has left scores of opposition supporters very disappointed, angry even.

Politicians allied to NASA had vowed to give Odinga the oath of office should President Uhuru Kenyatta be sworn in for a second term.

''If they swear him in, we will also swear Raila in. We have the legal and mental fortitude to do that. It is an option that has been robustly discussed.'' NASA CEO Norman Magaya told a local journalist on the night when the Supreme Court validated the October 26 presidential rerun.

Mainstream media outlets have, however, reported that Raila has, after a long and hard look, opted not to go ahead with that option.

''I am so very disappointed. They said that they would swear him in. Now we are hearing from the media that it is not going happen. I feel cheated.'' Amos Opar, a NASA supporter, said.

''If they are not going to give him the oath of office on Tuesday as they pledged,  they can as well forget about our support.'' Alice Anyango said.

Opposition supporters wait with bated breath to see what will happen on Tuesday.
